[Somehow I disappointed to see this conclusion. He should have at
least checked with Yahoo BB before he put his data on the
auction. --ed.]

The Yahoo BB customer who put his personal data on Yahoo Japan
Auction (See "Price of Personal Information"
http://www.matatabi.com/msg00038.html) cancelled his auction on
Friday. At 15:00 on Friday(Japan Time), the highest bid reached
4,500,006,000 yen (U.S. $41 million). He wrote in his blog that he
withdrew his goods from the auction because he could not afford 3%
service charge for such a ridiculously high bid.

He feels that he accomplished his goal of letting Yahoo BB understand
the value of personal information by getting considerable attention
from the major media outlets in Japan. He will not file a suit against
Softbbank. Yahoo BB informed that his personal data was not in the
stolen database after he put his data on the auction site.
